MALATINSZKY KÚRIA VILLANY, HUNGARY

The historic Malatinszky Family estate has produced wine in the south of Hungary for over eight centuries. After working for years as a sommelier in Budapest and France, Csaba Malatinszky re-established the property in 1997 and was the first person to re-introduce Cabernet Franc to the region after the fall of communism. Since then, Malatinszky’s wines have garnered international acclaim for their complexity that expresses Villány’s unique microclimate and terroir. The winery is one of the most respected estates in Hungary today. They achieved full organic certification in 2009 and continue to produce some of the finest examples of Cabernet Franc in the world.
